### 2. Physical Hardware Setup Phase

#### Step 1: Connecting Power and Network Interfaces

Begin by **connecting** the WiFi Router to a **power** source (power supply all in one included in the box US+EU+UK+AU) using the power cable into the **USBC port of device**. Next, insert the **HaLoWave USB** directly into the designated USB slot on the back of the device. If you wish to provide a wired internet connection to a computer or another device, connect the provided **Ethernet cable into the LAN port** (please ensure it is the LAN port, not the WAN port). This allows you to utilize a direct wired connection alongside the converted **2.4 GHz Wi-Fi** signal.

<figure><img src="/files/CCjzdMta05V9qAf0n2Kd" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Step 2: Attaching the Antenna

Similar to the Miner setup, you have 2 options for signal reception. You can proceed by attaching the included **3 dBi stock antenna** directly to the HaLoWave USB interface. Or, for significantly greater performance and the ability to connect to the HaLoWave network across further kilometers or miles of distance, it's recommended to use the included antenna connector adapters (RP-SMA or N-Type) to attach a more **powerful high-dBi external antenna**.

Example of good LoRaWAN antenna:

* 915/923 Mhz: <https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_EyDAfXg>
* 868 Mhz: <http://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_EuPYXSm>

This step is optional but strongly encouraged for maximizing coverage and bandwidth performances.

**If an external setup is unavailable**, you can proceed by attaching the **included 3 dBi stock antenna** directly to the device interface port.&#x20;

### 3. Digital Onboarding & Network Configuration

#### Step 3: Accessing the Dashboard & Wi-Fi Network Distinction

Once powered on, the router will boot up and begin broadcasting two distinct Wi-Fi networks. It's crucial to understand the difference between them from the very beginning:

* **GL-MT3000-XXX**: This network is primarily used for **accessing** the **Local Dashboard** and configuring the device's administrative settings, and you can use it also for internet connection.
* **HaLoWave WiFi**: This is the standard **2.4 GHz network** that will provide dedicated internet access to your **personal or business devices**, smartphones and etc., once the setup is complete, and **you can manage it as you want**.

To **begin the configuration**:

1. Open the Wi-Fi settings panel on your personal computer or mobile smartphone.
2. Locate and connect to the access point network named: **GL-MT3000-XXX**
3. Input the unique network security **password** (**Key**) printed clearly on the identification label tracking sticker affixed to the back of your WiFi Router casing.
4. Open a web browser window and navigate directly to the following local IP address string: **192.168.9.1:8080**

<figure><img src="/files/euHZ4MvqUxRmQNtwTjYi" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Step 4: Initial Dashboard Overview

Upon successfully logging into the **Local Dashboard**, <http://192.168.9.1:8080/>, you will land on the homepage. Here, you can view the primary details of your Wi-Fi Router, including its unique system-generated identifier (the "**Animal Name**"). At this stage, the device status will display as **Offline**. This is completely normal because the regional settings have not yet been configured.

<div><figure><img src="/files/4XSK88OJVNpdDV4QXpeA" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/yRM0kSR6305BF372WMPy" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

#### Step 5: Regional Configuration and Radio Restart

To establish a connection with the HaLoWave network, you must configure the device for your specific geographic location.

* Navigate to the **Admin** panel within the dashboard menu.
* **Select your** current operating **country** from the dropdown menu (e.g., changing from Canada to Italy).

<div><figure><img src="/files/PqjuvbHuznuLzFAEAtTm" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/4Chq1LoABla8euw5xgWJ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

* Click **Apply Region**. This will initiate a Radio Restart (this is not a full device reboot).
* **Wait** approximately **1 to 2 minutes for the radio restart to complete**. Make sure your device remains connected to the GL-MT3000-XXX network.
* On the Admin page, you will also see the option to select the **Channel & MHz**. The **system automatically** configures this to the **highest available value** based on your selected country to ensure the best possible performance. It's **highly recommended to leave this field unchanged**. Modifying these values manually can impair transmission integrity and affect continuous eligibility metrics.

<div><figure><img src="/files/QuCt3k8fPNRQmCsm9Jlg" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/upANyHV2eCmr2k6Gk1sX" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

Navigate **back** to the **Local Dashboard homepage**. If your Wi-Fi Router is positioned within the coverage area of an active HaLoWave Miner, the status will now display as Online.

<div><figure><img src="/files/9PplFUnHAGKaxnkIrUus" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/vpGGHoBffSs8051Wh5Ae" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

#### Step 6: Redeeming Your 1 Year Free Subscription for Internet Access

Although your device is now **"Online"** on the Local Dashboard, **internet navigation** will not function until you **activate your data plan**.

1. **Navigate** to the **Subscription panel** from the dashboard menu.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the page to **Available Credits** and locate the complimentary **365-day subscription** plan included with your purchase.
3. Click the Activate button.
4. A clear confirmation message will appear on your screen stating "**Activated 365 days**".

* Click **Save & Apply** to have your new network credentials and you can start to see after a few seconds the **new WiFi connection**.

<div><figure><img src="/files/HRnwmVEPVwxWGSxp3Cyu" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/PWYMVcr9KmLyEnNhIqaX" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

***Enterprise & Personal Tip**:* This customization layer gives you complete control over your localized footprint. Whether you are an enterprise, business, or commercial operator looking to deploy a specific, password-protected network for clients and staff, or a personal user wanting to securely connect your own smart hardware, you can manage the environment entirely to suit your specific deployment goals.

### 4. HaLoWave Subscription & Private Network Settings

#### Step 8: Renewing Your Connectivity Subscription

Once your complimentary 365-day access period concludes, **you can easily renew** your network connectivity **subscription** to maintain uninterrupted internet access.

1. Navigate to the **Subscription pag**e within your local administrative dashboard.
2. Click on the **Buy Subscription** action button.
3. This link will redirect you to a dedicated payment gateway page where you can **renew your plan**, such as our standard tier providing unlimited data allocation for $3 per month.

<div><figure><img src="/files/EjThNiSEoOKBuTLyp7yc" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/RhYV4RVGE4w33QH1fS4m" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

#### Step 9: Connecting to a Private HaLow Network (Optional)

In addition to connecting directly to HaLoWave public network infrastructure, having a Subscribtion, you can choose to connect your HaLoWave WiFi Router through a private HaLow Network.

1. Navigate to the Admin panel within your Local Dashboard menu.
2. Locate the configuration toggles and fields dedicated to the Private HaLow Network.
3. Input the exact SSID and Password of the HaLow private network, for example that one you previously initialized in the local dashboard of your HaLoWave Miner.
4. Click Save to apply the configuration.

**Important Note:** Activating or using this internal feature serves personal utility goals and doesn't yield increased **network rewards**. Increased rewards, through connectivity or data transfer, **is only possible with the HaLoWave public Network**. Not Private Network. For an extensive analysis of data transfer weightings, protocol equations, and reward distribution frameworks, please consult the official tokenomics documentation at: <https://halowave.io/tokenomics>

***Important Regional Restriction**:* The Private HaLow Network feature is strictly available in countries where there are no strict duty cycle regulations. Private HaLow networks (dual SSID) require a fixed radio channel. In the Countries **863-870 Mhz**, regulations require Dynamic Channel Selection (auto channel), which is **currently incompatible in all countries with duty cycle obligation**. This is a bureaucratic/technical limitation, not a HaLoWave restriction.

**Supported regions for Private HaLow Network**: USA, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia.

<div><figure><img src="/files/EBZ2V0708mCM7xsPrNdL" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/oTIVaiPZls0LTem80AuM" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

### 5. Finished Installation

**Congratulations, installation is complete!** You can also **physically confirm** that the device is **successfully connecting** to the network by looking at the LED status lights on the HaLoWave USB. It will flash **red and green** during active communication. This identical visual behavior occurs on both the **HaLoWave Wi-Fi router's USB** and the HaLoWave miner's USB, as both are establishing network communication.
